The last remaining data files and jobs will be removed from the mainframe November 30th. Any accounts still active will be disabled. The permanent shut down of all mainframe services - CICS, TSO, Wylbur - will take place at the end of the semester. This is the culmination of planning that began more than a year ago, and could not have been done without the work of many all across campus. While NIU has migrated to new software, we acknowledge that the legacy system provided the university with many years of reliable service.
All services related to the mainframe are being discontinued at the end of the Fall, 2009 semester. Active users have already been contacted to coordinate the discontinuance of these applications.
